HOW TO PUT CFW ON YOUR PS3:

Follow these steps and your PS3 will be jailbroken in no time ! 

PART 1

These are the steps to make sure your PS3 is CFW Compatible only

STEP ONE:

​

Determine your PS3 model number

​

Look on the back or the bottom of the PS3 for a serial code which begins with "CECH" and has several numbers (or a letter and some numbers) after it.

STEP TWO:

Compare your PS3's model number to supported models

Models of PS3 can be jailbroken with CFW by going to the next step following by the Serial Numbers:
 

• Fat - All PS3 Fat models are supported.

• Slim - If the first two numbers after "CECH" are "20", "21", or "25", and if your PS3 Slim model is Version 3.56 or lower, your console is supported.

• Super Slim - No PS3 Super Slim models are supported.
  
   

STEP THREE: ​

Figure out whether your PS3 is NAND or NOR. 

Depending on your PS3's model number, you can determine the type of PS3 you have, which will determine the type of Custom Firmware (CFW) you use later:

​

• FAT MODEL PS3 If the first letter after "CECH" is "A", "B", "C", "E", or "G", the console is NAND; for all other letters, the console is NOR.

If the requirements matches your PS3 you are ready to Jailbreak the PS3 with CFW Firmware
 

PART 2

​

• Preparing to Jailbreak

• Make sure your USB Device is Formatted to FAT32 it's the most common Format PS3 can recognize to do this procedure. You can use USB Flash Drive 32 GB or Lower or External Hard Drive max 2 TB nothing bigger

• Amped 4.89 PS3 Jailbreak Kit Link  https://www.mediafire.com/file/aphjae9bwtklr1x/Amped_4.89_PS3_Jailbreak_Kit.rar/file

• Download the Amped 4.89 PS3 Jailbreak Kit. Once the download is finished, it should be in your download folder in rar file.

• The Amped 4.89 PS3 Jailbreak Kit rar file can take a few minutes to download, so you should start the download process before moving on to other preparations.

STEP ONE:

Use winRAR program to Extract the Amped 4.89 PS3 Jailbreak Kit rar file. This process will vary depending on your computer's operating system:

​

• Windows - Open the rar file, right click and pick Extract Here, After it Extract you should have a folder called "Amped 4.89 PS3 Jailbreak Kit".

• Mac - Just double-click the rar file to extract it. The extracted folder will open when the extraction finishes.

STEP TWO:

​

Open the Step 1 folder. Double-click the Amped 4.89 PS3 Jailbreak Kit folder, then double-click the Step 1 Folder - Minimum Version Checker folder.

STEP THREE:
 

Copy the PS3 folder by simply dragging the PS3 folder to the USB Flash Drive, or press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C (Mac) to copy it.


STEP FOUR:

Paste the PS3 folder onto your USB Flash Drive. Open your USB Flash Drive by clicking its name in the lower-left side of the File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window, click a blank space, and press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac). Once the folder finishes pasting, you can proceed.


STEP FIVE:
 

Eject the USB Flash Drive, now that the USB Flash Drive is set up for your PS3, you can use it to check your PS3 Firmware.


PART 3

STEP ONE:

​

Plug your USB Flash Drive into your PS3 USB right slot. This is important, as using any other slot may cause the process to malfunction.

STEP TWO:
 

Go to the Firmware number's location. Select Settings on the main menu, select System Update, select Update via Storage Media, and select OK when prompted

STEP THREE:

​

Review the Firmware number. The number to the right of the "Update data of version" text must be listed as "4.89" or Lower.
 

PART 4
 

​

STEP ONE:

​

Plug the USB Flash Drive back into your computer. Now that you know that your PS3 is compatible with a jailbreak, you can create the installation drive.


STEP TWO:
 

Remove the PS3 folder from the USB Flash Drive simply delete the PS3 folder.


STEP THREE:
 

Open the Step 2 folder. In the Extracted Amped 4.89 PS3 Jailbreak Kit folder, double-click the Step 2 - Amped 4.89 CFW Beta Version folder to open it.


STEP FOUR:
 

Copy the Step 2 folder's contents to the USB Flash Drive by just dragging the "PS3" folder to your USB Flash Drive or, press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C (Mac), and then open your USB Flash Drive and press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac) to paste it to the USB Flash Drive.


STEP FIVE:
 

Eject your USB Flash Drive again. You'll now proceed with plugging the USB Flash Drive back into the PS3 for the last time, making sure to keep it there until the jailbreak is complete.


PART 5


STEP ONE:
 

Plug the USB Flash Drive back into the PS3 USB Slot on the right side. The USB Flash Drive will have to stay there until after you've completed the Jailbreak process.


STEP TWO:

​

Open the PS3 web browser. Select the www icon on the PS3's home screen.

STEP THREE:

Set the "Blank Page" option as your home page. To do so:

• Press Triangle

• Select Tools

• Select Home Page

• Select Use Blank Page

• Select OK

 

STEP FOUR:
 

Delete temporary files. This is important, as failing to do so may result in an error when attempting to download the Custom Firmware (CFW). For each of the temporary file types, do the following:

• Cookies — Press Triangle, select Tools, select Delete Cookies, and select Yes when prompted.
   

• Search History — Press Triangle, select Tools, select Delete Search History, and select Yes when prompted.
   

• Cache — Press Triangle, select Tools, select Delete Cache, and select Yes when prompted.
   

• Authentication Information — Press Triangle, select Tools, select Delete Authentication Information, and select Yes when prompted.

 

STEP FIVE:

Open the address bar. Press the Select button on your PS3's controller to do so.

Be careful I have heard using the Russian Site they can possible stealing your IDPS and PSID. If you are not sure what that means it's the way you go online with the PS3

STEP SEVEN:
Add the download page to your bookmarks, then close the browser. Press the Select button, then select Add to Bookmarks in the resulting menu. You can then close the browser by pressing Circle and selecting Yes when prompted.

STEP EIGHT:

Re-open the download page. Open your web browser, press the Select button, select the URL that you saved, and select OK when prompted.

STEP NINE:

Once you are into the Russian website you will know if your PS3 is compatiable for CFW Firmware. You will notice on the top right corner you will get a pop up message saying (xploit Initialization Complete Toolset ready) with a green check mark it would say (4.89, CEX, CEX). If you didn't get that and got red X meaning your PS3 can't have CFW Firmware.
